Interview with Andrea Cremer( Author of Nightshade)
I'm happy to welcome the fabulously talented Andrea Cremer here today! Author of Nightshade, THE most awesome-est book eva(I'm reading it now)...OMG love! love it. Calla is such a feisty character and Shay and Ren...I'll take two of them on each arm please lol I'm not even done reading Nightshade yet, but all I know is that I need Wolfsbane like now please :D

::Andrea Cremer::
Andrea Cremer spent her childhood daydreaming while roaming the forests and lakeshores of Northern Wisconsin. She now lives in Minnesota, but she thinks of her homeland as the "Canadian Shield" rather than the Midwest.
Andrea has always loved writing and has never stopped writing, but she only recently plunged into the deep end of the pool that is professional writing. When she's not writing, Andrea teaches history at a very nice liberal arts college in St. Paul.
In the little spare time she can find, Andrea stares up at trees, rescues infant rabbits from predatory cats, and invents names for pug puppies with her husband. She has an unfortunate tendency to spill things—white carpets beware!

Nightshade is a kick-a$$ paranormal story, Do you think teens can relate to Calla?– the importance of loyalty, responsibility and most important of all being true to yourself. I know i could(minus the whole wolf part)
I've been thrilled by the number of emails I've gotten from readers about how much they love Calla and that they relate to her. I think it's wonderful!
Calla started it all because I wanted to write a story about a female character who wasn’t being pulled into a magical world – she was already in the middle of it, a leader and a warrior. The world of Nightshade came as I tried to figure out how someone like Calla, a girl who I knew was incredibly powerful, could be afraid and angry. What was controlling her? Why would she be fighting against her own destiny? I realized that she was facing off with something even more powerful than herself. That’s where my background as a historian came in. I teach early modern history (1500-1800) – a period of immense, violent change in human societies. This is the time of witchhunts, religious warfare, colonization, the Inquistion; all types of cataclysmic social transformation that turned the lives across the globe upside down. The more I thought about Calla I thought about the ways in which wolf warriors and witches could have intertwined lives. The mythology in Nightshade is a blend of history and lore plus new twists I imagined along the way.
The names actually come from my obsession with the history of names and their meanings. When I was a little girl my mom gave me the book she and my dad used to pick out my name. It's just a little book published in the early 70s called "Name Your Baby," but I read it cover to cover. Ever since I've loved giving names to characters where the origin and meaning of the name is significant.
What do you think separates Ren and Shay for all the other love triangles out there. I think they both bring out the best in Calla ahem and steamy scenes :D
I think the difference is that I didn't set out to write a love triangle. Instead I was attempting to focus on the question: What happens to love when choice is taken away? Also the fact that Ren and Shay kept surprising me as I wrote - they are both mischievous guys, but I love them for it.
I grew up in the woods of Northern Wisconsin and spent as many days outdoors as I could. Traditional werewolf tales didn’t appeal to me because they were lacking in comparison to the beautiful, mysterious wolves I admired in the wilderness. In the Guardians I wanted to create a new wolf mythology that reflected the traits I love in wolves and wolf packs.
I heard that sometimes it's hard for an author to write a sequel, and I hear that there's going to a prequel to Nightshade and a new steam punk series(it sounds like a brain freeze lol) was there any difficulties?
Fortunately no :) The entire plot arc was in my head when I started writing Nightshade so I was able to continue writing the series without major obstacles. All three books are already written. I'm working on the 4th book (prequel) and the steampunk series now(The Inventor's Secret).

I read in one of your previous interviews that you stepped into the Nightshade world since 2008, Which came to you first – the ideas you wanted to explore or the storyline/characters?

Your bio mentions you invents names for pug puppies(i saw your cute pug pillow lol) Did inventing names for animals kind of help you invent the names for your Characters?

You know when Calla or any of the other wolves turn into wolves they their clothes don't pouf out of..and their not all naked because of the magic, what made you decided to make your wolves change that way? I think Ren is way hotter than Jacob so i wouldn't mind...never mind...lol

Character Interview: Morgan (Fairy Tale by Cyn Balog) + Giveaway
Fairy Taleby Cyn Balog
A captivating and witty dark fantasy that will have girls lusting after it.
Morgan Sparks has always known that she and her boyfriend, Cam, are made for each other. But when Cam’s cousin Pip comes to stay with the family, Cam seems depressed. Finally Cam confesses to Morgan what’s going on: Cam is a fairy. The night he was born, fairies came down and switched him with a healthy human boy. Nobody expected Cam to live, and nobody expected his biological brother, heir to the fairy throne, to die. But both things happened, and now the fairies want Cam back to take his rightful place as Fairy King.
Even as Cam physically changes, becoming more miserable each day, he and Morgan pledge to fool the fairies and stay together forever. But by the time Cam has to decide once and for all what to do, Morgan’s no longer sure what’s best for everyone, or whether her and Cam’s love can weather an uncertain future.
--
I've got a special interview for you readers! Today I have an interview with the lovely and very much psychic Morgan from FAIRY TALE! :D
Hi Morgan! So your boyfriend Cam is a fairy and The future King of the fairies, did you see that one coming or was it a total surprise?
Looking back, I should have known. He was almost superhuman. Almost too perfect to be human. But I grew up with him so I didn't think it possible that he could surprise me!
What was the first thoughts that came to your mine when Cam told you has was a fairy?
I had the thought that most girls would have. I thought he was trying to tell me he was gay, in a rather impolite way. But when he used his magic wand on me I realized what he was talking about. And I still couldn't believe it! I thought maybe he'd just learned some cheap magic and was fooling me. But he's not good at fooling or playing jokes . . . he's really a terrible liar.
Have you ever tried to bet on the football games or win the lottery to earn some extra money?
It's funny, my power really relies on studying human nature, so one time I tried the Pick 6 and didn't get a single number. I guess because I don't have much interest in football, except for watching Cam, I haven't bothered. But maybe one day I will try!
What are your thoughts on seeing the future – would you say that it is more of a burden or a gift?
Oh, it's a gift. I love being able to make sure nobody is going to be wearing the same dress I'll be wearing to a party.
So you've known Cam forever(since cooties lol) When was your guys first date? Details lol?
In eighth grade we went to Great Adventure together. I think that was our first real date because we went all alone. We both love rollercoasters. We had hot dogs and fries and it was really romantic. Well, maybe not, but we did hold hands on all the rides.
What’s the craziest or funniest moment that you had with Cam?
Once we went on a field trip to the Franklin Institute and Cam got lost in the giant walk-through heart. He gets a little claustrophobic.
I'm curious...What is in store for Cyn Balog?
I hope she'll write a sequel with me because I'm dying to tell the world what happened when Cam came back to my high school one day during my Junior year. I think people will find it really interesting!
Thanks Morgan for stopping by, I guest we'll see what the future holds for you and Cam!

In the beginning, there's a boy standing in the trees . . .
Clara Gardner has recently learned that she's part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn't easy.
Her visions of a raging forest fire and an alluring stranger lead her to a new school in a new town. When she meets Christian, who turns out to be the boy of her dreams (literally), everything seems to fall into place—and out of place at the same time. Because there's another guy, Tucker, who appeals to Clara's less angelic side.
As Clara tries to find her way in a world she no longer understands, she encounters unseen dangers and choices she never thought she'd have to make—between honesty and deceit, love and duty, good and evil. When the fire from her vision finally ignites, will Clara be ready to face her destiny?
Unearthly is a moving tale of love and fate, and the struggle between following the rules and following your heart.
Book Trailer:
My Thoughts:
This girl does not need saving! I like that in a female heroine. The main character, Clara creates a great balance between being a hero and being a normal teen, with a little crash course in the learning to fly department would help but i think she has it in the bag! Oh and did I mention Unearthly is like *heavenly sound* absolutely brilliant!
This book is just made of awesome... Cynthia Hand...wow. She created such dynamic characters and plot. Although I thought Clara’s purpose would be more... epic like saving the town from a huge fire, but i was happy with it. Besides there is a twist and it kind of seems like it’s leading to something BIG.
While Christian stole others hearts Tuck stole mine. Honestly I didn’t really like Christian i mean yeah he’s hot but he didn’t really give Clara a chance. He has his own drama to deal with.He just seem like he was on this high unobtainable pedestal. And then there is Tuck, totally crushing on Clara but let’s just say he went the hard way in getting Clara’s attention. He’s turns out to be a great guy. The characters are all such a joy to read, from their witty personality to their honesty.
Things are just getting started, Cynthia Hand’s fabulous debut Unearthly will leave you in an aw with it’s unraveling tale of angels, love and destiny. And may I add awesome writing. Cynthia's so very talented... she puts a great new spin on Angels.I look forward to reading her next book!

The sequel to the New York Times Best selling phenomenon, Hush, Hush!
Nora should have know her life was far from perfect. Despite starting a relationship with her guardian angel, Patch (who, title aside, can be described anything but angelic), and surviving an attempt on her life, things are not looking up. Patch is starting to pull away and Nora can't figure out if it's for her best interest or if his interest has shifted to her arch-enemy Marcie Millar. Not to mention that Nora is haunted by images of her father and she becomes obsessed with finding out what really happened to him that night he left for Portland and never came home.
The farther Nora delves into the mystery of her father's death, the more she comes to question if her Nephilim blood line has something to do with it as well as why she seems to be in danger more than the average girl. Since Patch isn't answering her questions and seems to be standing in her way, she has to start finding the answers on her own. Relying too heavily on the fact that she has a guardian angel puts Nora at risk again and again. But can she really count on Patch or is he hiding secrets darker than she can even imagine?
