Beware of a kiss under the full moon. It will change your life forever.
Celeste Parker is used to hearing scary stories about werewolves—Legend's Run is famous for them. She's used to everything in the small town until Brandon Maddox moves to Legend's Run and Celeste finds herself immediately drawn to the handsome new student. But when, after an unnerving visit with a psychic, she encounters a pack of wolves and gorgeous, enigmatic Brandon, she must discover whether his transformation is more than legend or just a trick of the shadows in the moonlight.
Her best friends may never forgive her if she gives up her perfect boyfriend, Nash, for Brandon, who's from the wrong side of town. But she can't deny her attraction or the strong pull he has on her. Brandon may be Celeste's hero, or he may be the most dangerous creature she could encounter in the woods of Legend's Run.
Psychic predictions, generations-old secrets, a town divided, and the possibility of falling in love with a hot and heroic werewolf are the perfect formula for what happens . . . once in a full moon.
My Thoughts:
Once in a Full Moon...I really liked it but it didn't quite live up to my exceptions. I mean look at that gorgeous cover!
We are introduced to Celeste who pretty much followers the litter. She has everything, great friends, allstar boyfriend, popularity etc. I found her to be naive and sometimes annoying. She always cared what everyone thinks, she never really put herself first.I just wanted her to stand up for herself and say "Hey if you guys really are my friends you'd be happy with whatever decisions I make, if not then I'm breaking up with you". I didn't really like her boyfriend or her friends they kind of kept her in to box. There was one character that I really enjoyed and it was Brandon. He's a loner and definitely yummy but very charming, smexy, and sweet. Sometimes I couldn't believe he went along with some of the things Celeste suggested. She has so many good traits to be a strong female heroine, she's kind and caring. I know there's a brave person inside her that's just waiting to come out...Team Celeste!
I was sucked into an enchanting the plot, a little immature at times especially with the cliques, but a good story nonetheless. This is one of those books where I'd love to see the characters grow. This is actually my first Schreiber book. Well not if you count the Vampire Kisses Manga. I really like her writing, she creates this fun, sweet and an enjoyable read. And even though this book had it's flaws, it gives you a lot to look forward to, the growth of Celeste, more Brandon, and Full Moons. It gets you in the spirit of Halloween. Definitely great for tweens!

Thanks for the review! Like you, I love this cover and I'm interested to read this one. I read somewhere else that Celeste was naive too and I'm interested to see if I get annoyed by this. I tend to be like you when a character is a little too naive for their own good.
ReplyDeleteGreat review! I've never heard of this book, but adding it to my TBR!
ReplyDeleteThis is a good honest review. I agree with you the cover looks great and would tempt me. I'm not so much huge big into wolves, but I might just be convinced.
ReplyDeleteThanks.

This book has been on my TBR list for a while... it's interesting that you say it was somewhat bogged with cliques-- I thought the same thing about Schreiber's other books, the Vampire Kisses series. Anyway, great review. :)
ReplyDeleteI really liked the first Vampire Kisses, so I'm definitely looking forward to reading this.
ReplyDeleteGreat review! :)
You're right. Her vampire Kisses series really fun and exciting. I was looking forward to read this one as well. See how it goes for me =)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any other books by this author but I did get this from Netgalley and will probably read it next month.
ReplyDeleteI loved Schreiber when I was younger - hope I haven't outgrown her. Thanks for the review!
