WHY CAN’T YOU CHOOSE WHAT YOU FORGET . . . AND WHAT YOU REMEMBER? There’s a lot Zoey would like to forget. Like how her father has knocked up his twenty-four- year old girlfriend. Like Zoey’s fear that the whole town will find out about her mom’s nervous breakdown. Like darkly handsome bad boy Doug taunting her at school. Feeling like her life is about to become a complete mess, Zoey fights back the only way she knows how, using her famous attention to detail to make sure she’s the perfect daughter, the perfect student, and the perfect girlfriend to ultra-popular football player Brandon. But then Zoey is in a car crash, and the next day there’s one thing she can’t remember at all—the entire night before. Did she go parking with Brandon, like she planned? And if so, why does it seem like Brandon is avoiding her? And why is Doug—of all people— suddenly acting as if something significant happened between the two of them? Zoey dimly remembers Doug pulling her from the wreck, but he keeps referring to what happened that night as if it was more, and it terrifies Zoey to admit how much is a blank to her. Controlled, meticulous Zoey is quickly losing her grip on the all-important details of her life—a life that seems strangely empty of Brandon, and strangely full of Doug.
My Thoughts:
Jennifer Echols does it once again! Forget You is full of passion, well written characters, and sizzling romance. After loving Going Too Far, i really liked the concept of Forget You. I couldn't stop myself from reading(and then it was over)There were times when Zoey would get on my nerves but i understood what she was going through. <3 Forget You!
We meet Zoey, who has this perfect girl persona,if she had a chip in her nail, she would have to redo it. I felt sorry for her because her Dad is obnoxious and mean. After the drama with her mom and the car accident Zoey is just kind of lost. I really like her, she's a vulnerable, flawed, character. When i first meet Doug... i didn't like him...but i found out he is just as vulnerable as Zoey but he tries to cover it up. He's High School social life was pretty much set for him after juvie. He's a strong and protective character. Then we meet Brandon who i could understand...but i can't say i hadn't like him he was a player. He was up front about it and Zoey knows it. I think his just misunderstood. I really cared about these character. I love them all they were realistic and engaging.
The romance between Doug and Zoey...is one of my favorites. Doug really cares about her(since the 7th grade) They are just great together and full of passion. I wouldn't have it any other way. They definitely balance either and have alot in common. I just wish Zoey realized this sooner(like in the 7th grade lol) I love Doug!
There are some mature scenes(2) in this book but like some other bloggers said it's o.k. to explore your body. I think that's why this book is going to be soo...controversial i mean Jennifer is not afraid to take risks(kudos for Jennifer). I mean i know people were shocked when Judy Blume's book Forever came out. I love Jennifer books. She is just an awesome writer, she creates beautiful(romantic), breathtaking story's. That i will be revisiting over and over again! I can't wait to see what Jennifer has for us next!
